We just discussed some of the functional properties of cow's milk in our last post. In Vedic culture, and till this day milk is seen as having sattvic( pure) energy especially since it comes from Holy Cow, which is revered for having a divine nature. Also, cows symbolizes Mother Earth along with Prakriti( nature); and inherently has qualities of preservation, pure love, and abundance. Therefore milk is seen as nectar and having rejuvenating properties due to its origin. We know from modern medicine that milk is full of nutrition: contains protein, calcium, and many other minerals and vitamins( A and D)! Because of all its attributes its considered as a must for growing children and for weak constitutions due to nourishing the vital life force. Also, it not only vitalizes the physical body, but also provides mental strength and stamina.
